The Red Delicious Apple variety is one of the world's most widely grown apple varieties by apple growers and is among the easiest and most dependable apple trees to grow. Although it is not the most consumed apple in the United States, it is one of the most widely produced in North America. Beautiful clusters of pink buds open to reveal creamy white blooms in early spring. The tree produces medium to large fruit that will continue to grow and ripen through the summer.

From September to October the apples will turn from pale green to their familiar bright red color, signaling that they are ripe and ready to be picked. A deep red peel and sweet-flavored white flesh make a tempting snack. It is one of our favorite apple trees for its delicious taste.
The fruit's thin skin and delicious crispness make the Red Delicious apple ideal for eating fresh off the tree and for baking. Around 700 chill hours will be needed for this apple tree. This popular apple tree bears fruit within 2-3 years of planting.
This semi-dwarf tree grows up to 15-20 feet tall and wide at maturity. Apple red Delicious tree grows best across the United States in USDA growing zones 4-8. This tree includes planting instructions in each order. Trees ship rooted in a container in soil. These are not bare-root trees. A regular watering schedule is important in the first year of planting to establish a strong root system. The addition of slow-release fertilizer in the early spring will help with fruit production.
